Los Angeles—US News Express, an online news outlet, is one of the recipients of 2019 Community Impact Award, according to Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Los Angles.
“Advancing Justice – Los Angeles is excited to honor US News Express because of your dedication to serving the regional Chinese community with national and regional news,” said Stewart Kwoh, the founder of Advancing Justice – Los Angeles. “It is a tremendous undertaking and a needed resource to help the region thrive.”
US News Express, headquartered in San Dimas, California, was founded in January 2016 with a vision to provide independent and impartial news coverage, serving as a reliable source of information for Chinese and other Asian communities.
“It is a great honor for us to receive 2019 Community Impact Award,” said Jennifer Liu, President of US News Express, “It is critical for new immigrants to understand their rights and duties. US News Express will continue its partnership with Advancing Justice-Los Angeles in serving the communities.”
Founded in 1983, Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Los Angeles is the nation’s largest legal and civil rights organization for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific islander community. Each year more than 15,000 individuals and organizations seek its services.
US News Express has “a marked impact” on immigrant communities as Kwoh told Liu in his invitational letter. “You have been our partner in spreading accurate information on public charge, ensuring our communities enroll in health care, encouraging immigrants to apply for citizenship, and informing audiences on demographic changes in the greater LA region.”
“Though many Asian immigrants may come to this country with little English proficiency, US News Express informs them of what is happening in their community here while keeping them connected with important issues back home.” Kwoh added.
US News Express will be honored with 2019 Community Impact Award at the annual gala of Advancing Justice – Los Angeles scheduled on October 17.
