LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CA – The Phillip Chen for Assembly campaign is proud to announce receiving the endorsements of five members of the Mt. San Antonio College Board of Trustees.
Those members include Board President Judy Chen Haggerty, Esq. (Rowland Heights), Clerk Dr. Manuel Baca (Diamond Bar), Member Dr. David K. Hall (San Dimas), Member Robert Hidalgo (West Covina), and Student Trustee Betty Santos (Rowland Heights).
“Phillip is an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California. He is a school board trustee whose leadership helped earn the district recognition for having some of the highest academic performing schools in the state,” said Board President Chen Haggerty, Esq.
“With half of California’s budget being spent on public education, it is vital that Phillip Chen is elected to the State Assembly,” said Member Dr. Hall. “Chen is the only candidate with an education background as a school board trustee, educator, and holder of a Doctorate of Education. He has my whole-hearted endorsement.”
“As a school board trustee, Phillip worked with his colleagues to successfullyturn around a budget deficit, and establish a “rainy day fund”, all without raising taxes,” said Clerk Dr. Baca.
“California needs Phillip Chen in the legislature to ensure that our tax dollars are spent wisely in the classroom and our youth are given the tools to succeed in a 21st century workforce,” said Member Hidalgo.
Chen has already received the endorsements of popular State Senator Bob Huff; Los Angeles County Supervisor Mike Antonovich; all members of the Walnut Valley Unified School Board; the San Gabriel Valley Tribune; and the California Small Business Association.
The 55th Assembly District is split between Orange, San Bernardino and Los Angeles Counties.
